ENKON ENVIRONMENTAL

In 1996, ENKON Environmental Limited was co-founded by Glenn Stewart and Niko Zorkin, who had been working together in one of the leading environmental consulting firms in BC. 

 

"It was time to take the risk and plot our future course, knowing that there was no going back".

In the late 1990's-early 2000's, we focused on providing innovative, computer based environmental management systems to the GVRD (now Metro Vancouver) to map the entire stormwater infrastructure system for all participating municipalities, and to provide a similar fisheries management system for CP Rail's mainline track from the Alberta border to downtown Vancouver.  At the time, it was the first electronic environmental management system ever deployed by Metro Vancouver or CP Rail.  We were also providing environmental impact assessment and planning services to the largest land developer in the Lower Mainland, Wesbild Holdings at their Westwood Plateau residential, commercial and golf course site.  A special thanks to Metro Vancouver, CP Rail and Wesbild for believing and supporting us in our early years! 

 

From the early-2000's to 2015, our company continued to evolve in staff expertise and the range of clients we provided our service.  Clients such as Amtrak-US, Wesbild Holdings, CN Rail, Metro Vancouver, Vancouver Organizing Committee, 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, and LaFarge Canada were providing long term projects and the need to expand our staff capabilities into regulatory permitting and multi-discipline team, project management.  We were also providing extensive provincial environmental approval process services for large recreational resort development projects such as Kickinghorse Mountain Resort, Revelstoke Mountain Resort and Garibaldi at Squamish All Season Mountain Resort.

 

Today, ENKON continues to provide environmental consulting services to a wide range of clients, many of which have developed long term relationships of over 24 years with ENKON.
